Test range aircraft tracking
- Case background: Mobile trailer-based EOS with dual‑channel visual/IR optics is deployed at a coastal test range. Operators acquire a fast‑jet on cue ingress with a wide‑FOV daylight camera, auto‑tracking engages to maintain lock during high‑G turns. EOS placed at optimal pedestal angle aspect with respect to the aircraft Line-Of-Sight during the flight, enabling the system to seamlessly transition to IR narrow‑FOV for long‑range precise tracking continuation. Pan/tilt motion control keeps the aircraft centered, while the GUI records trajectory and time‑stamped events.
- Case objective: Deliver verifiable trajectory via visual and thermal tracks for aircraft performance and flight mission events in a single mission package
- Other information:
- Two-EOS platform deployment, in order to achieve range track without external additional trajectory instrumentation sensors.
- Mobile trailer enables rapid setup at designated EOS location for coverage of required flight corridors; fixed pan/tilt at a location with an assessed
- ow angular spread, supports smooth tracking within pedestal angular capabilities even through high‑speed passes.
- Dual‑channel optics (wide FOV for acquisition; narrow FOV for precision) optimise coverage across ranges and altitudes.
- Automatic video tracking reduces operator input, improving lock retention during aggressive maneuvers.
- Post‑processing exports compile miss‑distance and scoring reports with synchronised video.
- C2 integration allow mission control supervision and customer mission observation.
